The pioneer of this pattern was our Principal Late Shri L.D. Deshmukh. He was instrumental in introducing and implementing this pattern. Initially he faced some problems but by taking the staff and students into confidence he overcame all the obstacles and made the pattern to run smoothly. This ultimately paid very rich dividends. The former Principal Dr. N.N. Saste and all the staff members, have decided to continue the pattern in the years to come. This year Principal Dr. D. K. Burghate has introduced audio-visual aids to improve the performance of the students. In addition to this junior college teachers have been appointed as academic guide for the meritorious students so as to solve their difficulties. It is through the visionary guidance of all Hon’ble Principals the pattern could reach soaring height of success. |
Science College Nagpur is aptly regarded as a feather in the cap of Shri Shivaji Education society. This college came into existence as a faculty in the year 1960 with a very meagre strength of 45 students and as an independent college in year 1967. However the college recorded a rapid growth exponentially in academic excellence, infrastructure, and in the strength of staff and students. This was possible due to hard work of the students, staff and principal. The whole-hearted cooperation of the management is a matter of special mention.
At present the college offers 13 combinations of subjects at Undergraduate level and Five Post-Graduate courses, which is perhaps the maximum amongst the single science faculty college in Central India. The total strength of the student is about 2500.
This college is widely regarded as a highly reputed Institution in Maharashtra State due to its excellent academic results which is evident from its students, occupying most of the merit positions in various examinations. We try to inculcate competitive and humanitarian spirit in our students.
It is a premier, Science-Faculty institution with highly qualified academicians, imparting quality education in their respective fields. The College today enjoys high reputation at national level for its outstanding performance in academics, sports and extracurricular activities, and duly attracts students from all over the country and even abroad.
During the last four decades of its progressive march, the College has aimed at providing its students the best possible learning while they undergo their degree courses. The College has always focus on all round growth of its students, and strives hard to bring out the best in everyone who enters the portal of learning! In pursuance of this goal, the College has built up a magnificent infrastructure which include a galaxy of competent staff.
